Cow Power

In the mid 2000s Christchurch engineer Ian Bywater invented BioGenCool – a process that extracts the biogas (methane and carbon dioxide) from cow effluent using novel biodigester technology. After production it is then cleaned and used as fuel in a co-generation plant to generate electricity. This case study looks at this system and provides extensive curriculumlinked discussion points.
