When Fernridge School joined the Technological Literacy research project, all teachers participated in the PLD around the project and syndicates taught a Technology unit based on a shared theme. This case study focuses on a Year 2/3 Games unit and a Year 4 Moving Toys unit. |

Characteristics of Technological Outcomes: Guide students to identify the physical nature of Technological Outcomes. The physical nature of Technological Outcomes refers to its physical attributes. For example; size, shape, colour, smell, texture, components; Guide students to identify the functional nature of Technological Outcomes. The functional nature of Technological Outcomes refers to its functional attributes. That is, what the outcome or part of the outcome does. For example; provides grip, transports mass, stores, joins surfaces.
Brief Development: Guide students to develop a conceptual statement and to identify the attributes an appropriate outcome should have.
Outcome Development & Evaluation: Teachers could support students to undertake outcome development and evaluation by ensuring there is a brief with attributes against which a developed outcome can be evaluated.
