CP1201: Dressing Table Design

Year 11 students at Westlake Girls' High School designed a dressing table inspired by a chosen designer, in a successful 19-week trial unit designed to implement the newly-aligned Technology standards.

  • Demonstrate understanding of design principles, approaches and the work of influential designers
  • Indicator: students can integrate aesthetic and functional characteristics of chosen influential designer when developing their own design ideas.

Human Factors in Design

  • Demonstrate understanding of basic concepts and techniques related to human factors in design
  • Indicator: students can skilfully plan, select and apply presentation skills that are of a high quality showing accurate layout skills, and visual impact to tell a story.

Graphics Practice

  • Demonstrate ability to apply design knowledge and drawing techniques to communicate design ideas
  • Indicator: students can convincingly communicate design ideas visually in accordance with the context specified in the design brief.
